Welcome, Choate families

I’m Susan Black of SuziBee Designs—Choate’s yearbook partner since 2017. Designing your student’s Senior Recognition Page is a privilege I take to heart. This is a once-in-a-lifetime page that becomes part of the school’s permanent archives, and my job is to make it easy, beautiful, and print-perfect. I personally handle every note, proof, and pixel; Don, my husband, quietly maintains the website and keeps the portal secure.

Account & Access: After Choate sends me the order list, I will create your account and email you your login information. The school controls this timing and can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks. If you don’t see my email, please check your spam/junk folder.

  • School-paid page includes:

    • ¼ page = 1 image + 150-character message
    • ½ page = 4 images + 225-character message
    • Full page = 6 images + 350-character message

    Character limits include spaces, punctuation, and signatures. The student’s name is excluded.

  • Templates are fixed (no image placement requests, swaps, or layout/font/color changes on the base option) and include one proof.

  • The included proof for the school-paid page is for wording corrections only. Because the template layout, fonts, colors, and image placement are preset, design changes or photo swaps are not part of the school-provided service.

Upgrades:

  • Add + 2 images

  • All Upgrades include 3 total proofs; additional proofs are $35 each.

  • A 8×10 (Full page ads) or 5×7 (1/2 or Quarter page ads) Printed Keepsake is included

Proofs:

  • Basic = 1 proof included.
  • Upgrades = 3 total proofs.
  • $35 per extra beyond what is included.
  • Custom = unlimited.

For the school-paid template, the included proof covers only wording corrections (such as spelling, punctuation, or minor text adjustments). Because the layout and image placement are fixed at this level, changes to photo order, photo swapping, fonts, colors, or design elements require selecting an upgrade option that includes additional proof rounds and time for personalized adjustments.

Proof usage: Proofs are provided for layout and wording review only and include a visible watermark. Photos remain the property of their respective owners; however, the page design, layout, and final artwork are © SuziBee Designs. Proofs may not be downloaded, shared, altered, or used. Clean, print-ready files are included with the Digital Keepsake upgrade

Photo rights: Families must own the digital rights to any professional photos used (especially school photographer images).

Templates: Fixed layouts. For font/color changes, specific image placement, or extra photos, please choose an upgrade or a Custom page.

Image fit: Choose photos that match the box orientation (portrait for tall boxes, landscape for wide boxes). Please do not crop images. I will adjust them to fit.

The deadline to place your order and submit materials to Susan is December 15, 2026.

Message Length: Templates are designed for a brief personal message. Character limits include spaces, punctuation, and signatures; the student’s name is excluded. If your message exceeds the character limit, please shorten it or consider a Custom Designed Tribute for greater flexibility.

Approvals: Please proofread carefully—you’re responsible for ensuring that all names, dates, and wording are accurate. Once you approve, your page is considered final.

Timeline:

  • Now: select your favorite images. Revisit the image allowances for the size tribute you purchased.  Draft a brief message that adheres to the template message limits.
  • Nov 1: the portal opens.
  • 1st- 2nd week of Nov: I receive the first Choate list, create accounts, and email logins.
  • Nov–Dec: Template selection, placing the order, and sending images.
  • Dec 15: Final deadline for website selections and emailing your images to Susan.
  • Dec–Feb: Susan prepares your tribute, sends proofs for review, finalizes approved designs, and submits them to the Choate yearbook.
  • Please notify Susan if you have any travel plans or timing conflicts during the template selection and ordering period.

Keepsakes: A Digital Keepsake of your finished page is available as an upgrade. Optional Printed Keepsakes may also be requested — each created with the same care and artistry as your student’s yearbook page.

Privacy: This is a secure, private portal. I personally handle every note, proof, and pixel, and my husband, Don, maintains the secure site.
